What a called-off hour costs is set by how much warning your message gave, and never by the reason behind it; damages are not part of the arrangement here.
Three lines cover almost everything. More than a day before the agreed time, nothing is kept and the front half returns whole. Inside that final day while she is still where she started, half of the front half stays and the remainder is returned. Once she has set off, the front half stays.
Two things that soften the last line
If the hour you released is taken by another guest, the whole of the front half comes back, since no time was lost after all. And if you can show the house lost less than it held, only that smaller figure stays.
Reasons are not graded
Nothing here reads the reason. A hip that seized up, a change of heart at the last minute, a meeting that ran long and a guest who simply lost his nerve are all the same message, measured by the clock alone. Calling off an hour never leaves you owing the house damages, and no clause on this domain invents any. Give the building or the district, the hour you want her there and how long for. Anything about your own body that changes how the room should be set goes in the same message, and it is read as a practical note rather than as an apology.
