Light is the one request guests lower their voice to make, and the one she grants without any discussion. Twenty-three, a brunette in the Jordaan, she works in Ukrainian, Russian and English and reads a room quickly in all three. Some guests want the place bright; a good many want it nearly dark, and neither choice tells her anything she needs to know about the person making it. She will also take the opening stretch of an hour in near silence where that is the preference, and say nothing about it later. What the session includes is hers to decide, stated plainly before it begins.

Ivy decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
